Fiery Open Faced Grilled Cheese, Ham & Tomato


4 large slices crusty dark bread like a dense sourdough, about ½” thick
4 tsp. softened butter
4 thin slices dry-cured style country ham
8 thin slices of red tomato
4-8 slices Gruyere, Comte, or Emmental cheese (about 2oz per sandwich)
4oz S&F Honey Buffalo Sauce

      Pro tip – line sheet tray with foil or parchment for easy clean up.


  1. Preheat oven to 450º.
  2. Spread one side of each slice of bread with softened butter, place butter side up on sheet tray.
  3. Add a ham slice on each piece of bread, next add tomato slices on top of ham. Cover ham and tomato with slices of cheese.
  4. Bake until cheese is melted and golden around edges, 6-8 minutes.
  5. Drizzle each open-faced sandwich with 1oz of S&F Honey Buffalo Sauce
